Last year, many Canadian’s were surprised by average American’s reluctance to increase taxes on US Millionaires.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released yesterday, the tides have turned Stateside.  64%, or nearly two-thirds of Americans, now favoured imposing a minimum tax of 30% on individuals earning $1 million annually.

The proposed “Buffett Tax” was named after Warren Buffett, the American multibillionaire investor who, since November 2007, has been advocating for increasing taxes on millionaires.

Those polled who favoured the tax increase identified themselves politically as; 76% Democrats, 49% Republican.
